A look at the Tsum Tsum Figural Keyring Series 1

Awhile ago the company Monogram began releasing sets of Disney "Figural Keyrings". Each set contains 11 different character "keyrings" which are basically little stylized figures with a key chain attached to them. They call them "3-D Foam" but basically are similar to vinyl figures. They are up to 5 different Disney Series as well as a Villains specific series with Series 6 and a Finding Dory series coming soon.

It was only a matter of time until they released a Tsum Tsum based series and a few weeks ago they started to appear at Hot Topic. Unfortunately we had trouble finding them at our local Hot Topics but about a week ago they appeared for purchase on Entertainment Earth so of course we had to buy some!

Disney Tsum Tsum Series 1 (indicating there will be future Tsum Tsum series) contains Alice, Chip, Minnie, Marie, Mad Hatter, Alice, Pluto, Pooh, Tigger, Pinocchio, and Dumbo (Pinocchio and Dumbo are in theory "secret" characters but it is very obvious who they are from their outline on the back of the bag and they show up in various promotional images too so they aren't much of a secret LOL)

Each box contains 24 keyring blind bags:


Here is a closer look at the front and back of the bag:



Inside the bag there is a thin piece of cardboard wrapped around the figure... this is to try to prevent you from being able to feel the character inside but many of them you can feel from the sides and tell who it might be



Each figure is very similar to the Jakks vinyl Tsum Tsums (but bigger) or the Disney Store Vinyl Tsum Tsums (but smaller). Of course being "keyrings" they have a keychain attached to their backside:


We purchased two 6-packs from Entertainment Earth and ended up getting all of them except the two "secret" characters... hopefully we will manage to find them later. Here is a look at each of the characters we got:










As I mentioned earlier they are very similar to the other Vinyl Tsum Tsums that are available so I figured it would be good to compare them. On the left are the Jakks Vinyl Tsum Tsums, in the middle is the Keyring Tsum Tsum, and on the right is the Disney Store Vinyl Tsum Tsum with a Tsum Tsum Squishy from the UK on top of him.


This past weekend we saw these at several Hot Topics so it seems like their availability is expanding and I am sure they will continue to show up in more stores. You can also purchase them from Entertainment Earth... they are currently out of stock but you can still buy them and they will send them to you once they are back in stock.



We are sure Series 2 will be coming before too long and there are some obviously missing characters (For example Mickey to go with Minnie and Dale to go with Chip) and we will be sure to let you know when we hear more!
